Don (Donnie) Burress

Don Burress, 64, of Plainview, Texas died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson and the Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Interment followed in Hart Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Don was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Plainview to Herman and Loydas Burress. He graduated from Hart High School. He retired from the Plainview Fire Department after 27 years of service. He was an EMT instructor and a Fire Department Training Officer. Don was a member of SPEMS, RAC, TAA, Plainview Professional Fire Fighters Association, Plainview Hale County Fireman Association and was a volunteer firefighter for the Olton Fire Department. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pam Burress of Plainview; one daughter, Stacy Grant and husband Gary of Hickory Creek, Texas; one son, Timothy Burress and wife Antonia of Houston; one brother,  Bobby Van Burress of Hart; one sister, Rebecca Ingle of Mayhill, N.M., and 13 grandchildren, Shayla, Blake, Michael, Carmen, Alfredo, Mattix, Mattison, Ayden, Ashtyn, Javyn, Alex, Khloe and Max.
